I recently started watching the new “Wednesday” series on Netflix and was pleasantly surprised to see that it featured the famous Addams Family character playing the cello!
Wednesday just happened to be one of my favorite fictional characters growing up (and I’ve dressed up like her MANY times at this point for Halloween and Cinespia).
What song was Wednesday playing on cello?
She was playing “Paint it Black” by The Rolling Stones!
It’s funny, because I was recently thinking that I don’t really make sheet music for strings anymore, even though I was in orchestras for my entire childhood (and into adulthood). I think I will consider these string arrangements of “Paint it Black” from “Wednesday” my first step back into writing music for violin, viola, and cello. I’m looking forward to this journey!
